Loganville Real Estate

Loganville, Georgia

Loganville lies mainly in western Walton County, with the city limits reaching just far enough west to take in a portion of southeastern Gwinnett County. U.S. Route 78 runs through the center of town, connecting Loganville to Monroe about five miles east and to downtown Atlanta roughly 32 miles to the west. Georgia State Route 20 leads northwest toward Lawrenceville, and Georgia State Route 81 connects the city to Winder and Covington. From SRA Signature Realty's office in Tucker, Loganville sits a comfortable drive southeast along the Gwinnett and Walton county line.

From Buncombe to Loganville

The community that became Loganville was first known as Buncombe before it was renamed for James Harvie Logan, an early settler in the area. The Georgia General Assembly incorporated the Town of Loganville in 1887, and the city has grown considerably since, expanding from roughly 10,000 residents at the start of the 2010s to well over that by the following census, a pace of growth that has made it one of the more active communities along the US 78 corridor east of Atlanta. That growth has unfolded gradually around the original Main Street core rather than replacing it, so the historic downtown remains recognizable even as new neighborhoods have filled in around it.

Downtown Events on the Town Green

Loganville's Town Green on Main Street serves as the community's gathering spot, hosting a monthly outdoor concert series each summer known as Groovin' on the Green, along with seasonal events such as a spring food festival, twice yearly car shows benefiting local causes, a fall festival with dozens of vendors, and a Christmas parade and tree lighting each winter. West Walton Park hosts the city's Independence Day celebration, complete with fireworks and a free concert, and other public spaces around town, including Gaither Park and Destination Park, host smaller gatherings and recreation throughout the year.

Green Space Beyond Downtown

Just outside the city, Vines Gardens is a nearly 80 acre Gwinnett County park built around a former estate, offering a paved walking trail, a small lake, a community garden, and a pavilion available for events. It gives Loganville area residents a garden style outdoor option in addition to the city's own parks, and its pavilion is available to rent for private gatherings through the mansion on the property.

Shopping Along the US 78 Corridor

Because U.S. Route 78 runs directly through town, Loganville has grown into a commercial stop for the surrounding area, with grocery stores, retail centers, and a wide range of restaurants lining the highway on both sides of Main Street. That everyday shopping and dining sits within a few minutes of the more historic, small scale storefronts closer to the Town Green, giving residents both convenience retail and a walkable downtown core in the same city.

Homes Along a Growing Corridor

Housing in and around Loganville includes established neighborhoods built as the city expanded through the late 20th century, along with a substantial amount of newer construction added during its more recent growth. Traditional single family subdivisions make up much of the housing stock, spread across a landscape that still carries a small town feel in its older sections near Main Street, with larger, more rural lots becoming more common toward the edges of the city limits.
